Important notice to present owners
If you own a work by Lucas Sithole which is not included on this website and you feel it merits to be considered, please send us full details with photographs suitable for reproduction. Your name will not be disclosed unless with your written permission, except for Corporate and University or Museum Collections.
Your collaboration is particularly useful as there have been various attempts since 2004 to offer by auction both in South Africa and abroad works wrongly attributed to the one and only Lucas T. Sithole. There have also been attempts to pass off some works as genuine works by Lucas Sithole which were painted on cloth and in fact done by other artists during the late 1950s (details on request).
If you wish to dispose of your works by Lucas Sithole, please send us full details with good photographs suitable for reproduction, and our office will be pleased to give you a certificate of authenticity, at no costs, and if required, submit a free estimate. You need to submit the work, however, directly to your auctioneers.
Important notice to previous owners
In order to keep our extensive research files on the late Lucas Sithole up-to-date, we would appreciate your advising us if you disposed of a work in the past. This is most important should there be a museum exhibition planned at some future date, so that new owners can be contacted for a loan of their sculpture. All such information will be kept confidential and only used for museum exhibition purposes.
